Michael James Kacey
began his career as an actor before embracing filmmaking. He has written, directed and produced two feature films through his company Anthracite Films: "Daybreak" and "The Poet Laureate of Radio: An Interview with Norman Corwin." His current project, a detailed look at early broadcasting, is called "Radio Changed America."
His first film, "Daybreak,"was shot in 15 days on two coasts; 12 days on location in northeastern Pennsylvania, and the remaining 3 days in Los Angeles, CA. The dark drama stars Paul Clemens ("The Beast Within") as Jeff Stokes, a man who makes a wish to change his past, in the process destroying his present a future. The film is available on DVD. "The Poet Laureate of Radio: An Interview with Norman Corwin" is a documentary featuring legendary radio playwright-director-producer Norman Corwin's journey through the Golden Age of Radio and the impact the medium has had on American society.
