What's “The Creative Journey” All About?
Posted by Chd on 2009/7/31 8:30:00 (2 reads)

No matter what career path we choose for ourselves in life, the road we take will likely be filled with a lot of challenges and even consequences. This is especially true if you are an artist. I know what it means to stay true to yourself and remain steadfast on the artistic path, no matter what life throws your way. And it’s not always easy. In fact, there are times you’d swear the entire Universe is out to end your dream!

I’ve recently begun giving a 90-minute live presentation targeting schools and colleges called THE CREATIVE JOURNEY: LIVING LIFE AS A CREATIVE PERSON.

My past appearances include Colorado State University-Pueblo, Bucknell University and King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. During the show I play clips from my acting career as well as from my films. I share my advice for believing in yourself as you continue down the artistic path, despite staggering odds, the pressures, and commitments in everyday life. My presentation is not only on how to stay focused on your own creative journey, but also how to survive those bumps in the road even if it means changing direction.

Anyone who is a creative person knows that deep down in their soul they have no choice; it is essentially part of who they are. When a creative person gives up on their dream, it’s not just the dream that dies, but also a part of themselves.

The Creative Journey is serious business and, let’s face it, there can be casualties.

But I suggest living by these words:

Dare to Dream. Dare to Live the Dream.

Your fellow companion on the Creative Journey,

Michael James Kacey
